Parents Guide – A Guide to help students and their families.

Confirmed case 17.11.2020

We have received confirmation that a year 11 student has tested positive for coronavirus.  We wish them a speedy recovery.  Following a full risk assessment with public health officials we have advised that students identified as close contacts should now self-isolate as a precaution.  If you or your child has not been contacted directly this means that there has not been close contact and your child is safe to attend school as normal.

Confirmed case 13.11.2020

We have received confirmation that a year 10 student has tested positive for coronavirus.  We wish them a speedy recovery.  Following a full risk assessment with public health officials we have advised that students identified as close contacts should now self-isolate as a precaution.  If you or your child has not been contacted directly this means that there has not been close contact and your child is safe to attend school as normal.

Confirmed case 11.11.20

We have today received confirmation that two students, one in year 11 and one in year 9 have tested positive for coronavirus.  We wish them a speedy recovery.  These students were already self-isolating in line with government guidance so have not been in school during the period when they could have passed the virus to others.  Therefore no close contacts have been identified in school and no further action will be taken.

Confirmed case 11.11.2020

We have received confirmation that a year 8 student has tested positive for coronavirus.  We wish them a speedy recovery.  Following a full risk assessment with public health officials we have advised that students in one form class bubble (24 students) should now self-isolate as a precaution.  If you or your child has not been contacted directly this means that there has not been close contact and your child is safe to attend school as normal.  Please see the attached letter for more information.

I would like to take this opportunity to make a couple of reminders to parents:

    • A negative test does not mean that someone has to stop self isolating.  A test should only be arranged if someone is experiencing symptoms.
    • If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms or has arranged for a test, everyone in the household must self isolate.  Please do not send a child to school if anyone in the household has symptoms.
