Burnside College students today celebrated a fantastic set of GCSE results. While nationally the pass rate fell to 73%, students at Burnside achieved a pass rate of 78% in their GCSEs.

Despite the pass rate falling nationally, the percentage of students who achieved a 4+ pass in both English and maths has stayed the same as last year 72%. This is a significant increase from 57% the last time students sat external exams in 2019.

Not only this, students secured a record number of grade 9s across twelve different subjects.

This is even more impressive when you consider the impact that school closures have had on students in this year group and to achieve such fantastic results is a testament to the hard work and attitude of these students during this time.

All the staff at Burnside College are incredibly proud of them and wish them well for the future.
