Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Our Safeguarding Policy outlines our commitment to protecting students from harm, neglect, and exploitation. This policy is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure it reflects the latest legislation and best practices.

Safeguarding Leads

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Miss N Stephenson, who works closely with a team of trained safeguarding staff to monitor and respond to any concerns. Parents and students can contact one of our safeguarding team at any time if they have a safeguarding-related concern. 

 

Safeguarding Procedures

At Burnside College, we have robust safeguarding procedures in place to identify and support students who may be at risk. This includes regular staff training, clear reporting protocols, and close collaboration with external agencies, such as social services and the police, when necessary.

Through our pastoral support, PSHE curriculum, and whole-school initiatives, we empower our students to recognise and report concerns, develop healthy relationships, and build resilience. By fostering a culture of trust, respect, and open communication, we ensure that every child at Burnside College feels safe, supported, and able to reach their full potential.
