Thank you for considering Burnside College as the school of choice for your child’s learning journey.

Burnside College is its own admissions authority.  If your child is wishing to join us from an alternative Secondary School you will need to complete an In-Year application and follow the submission instructions. You must use the application form supplied by the school and this must be returned to the school not the Local Authority. Below you will find all of the information you need to do this, including the admission policy.

In Year Applications/Transfers

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  If your child is wishing to join us from an alternative Secondary school you will need to complete an In-Year application form available from Burnside College. Application Form

Where there are places available but more applications than places the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023-24, will be applied. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application which can be found here

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful

You can send your application via post or email.

If you have any queries regarding in-year applications please contact Mrs H Patterson, Deputy Headteacher by email at h.patterson@burnsidecollege.org.uk or alternatively ring 0191 2598500.
