Year 7
This is a summary of the topics and events for Year 7.
The main focus in Year 7 was Careers in the NHS and employability skills through their Business project.
Year 8
This is a summary of the topics and events for Year 8.
The main focus in Year 8 was thinking about their own skills and abilities and how this links to careers. This worked alongside a consideration of available jobs and speaking to employees at a Careers Speed Dating Event.
Year 9
This is a summary of the topics and events for Year 9
The main focus in Year 7 was careers in the NHS and using this a a platform to think about trying a wide range of careers by taking part in a ‘Careers Zone’ in school.
There were also significant Engineering and construction opportunities, including a day at TyneMet College to get a practical experience of those options.
Year 10
This is a summary of the topics and events for Year 10
The main focus in Year 10 was developing employability skills. This was driven through the Building My Skills Project and resulted in all students working towards an interview day to showcase their skills and experience.
This was supported with significant other opportunities such as STEM assemblies and an extra special ‘Medical Mavericks’ Day which was enjoyed by all!
Year 11

The main focus in Year 11 was preparing for life after school, and understanding the range of options available both at Post 16 and Post 18.
